A study by the Tehran Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Institute for Research and Studies of the Ministry of Interior, shows that the imbalance in the country’s economy and its excessive dependence on the energy and natural resources industries is centered on the day-to-day weakening of valuable manufacturing industries. Added leads.
According to the statistics center, the gross domestic product at the constant price of 2011 was 1394 billion rubles in 2013 and 71% in the amount of 7130225 billion rials with oil and 5734702 billion rials without oil, while the figure was 7496064 billion rials last year and 5874719 billion rubles without oil Rial, which indicates a negative growth of 4.9 percent of GDP in the oil and a negative 2.4 percent of the gross domestic product without oil in 1397. Thus, in the year 1397 the negative agricultural activity group 1.5, the negative industry group 9.6 and the service group grew by 0.02 percent compared to the previous year. But why has this growth been negative and what should you think to overcome it? Alireza Kalahi explained the reasons in the conversation with Tehran’s newsroom.
* Economic growth has declined. According to some of the same events, the sanctions have taken place during the Ahmadinejad era, but their speed is more than that. What is the reason for this?
Yes, the pace of economic slowdown has increased. Because the destruction that occurred at that time, its effects are still there. Meanwhile, the legendary oil revenues of the 90s and 91s were obtained in Ahmadinejad’s government, it did not happen again. That’s why the pace of inflation and economic growth have been increasing over the years. In fact, that oil income covered the bad effects of those years. But now the housing effects of oil revenues are gone, and we feel the pain of the problems more.
* In different periods of economic growth has always fluctuated. Years that have been able to export oil have shown the economic growth of the above figures, the years that we have been banning, economic growth has quickly deteriorated.
Of course, these issues were not specific to this government and that government. These cases are the result of 40 years of domination in the field of industry. One of the facts is that policies need to change. But, unfortunately, the package that was prepared in the Iranian room on this issue has been faced with a lack of goodies. For example, the argument about the competitiveness of the value chain is one example. * Why does this happen?
To illustrate this, I’ll give you an example. England exploited India. At that time there was a textile and weaving industry in India. Britain destroyed the Indian industry, but exported silk and natural fibers from India to India, and exported textiles to India and other countries. Well, in fact, we do the same with all our natural resources. We export iron ore, we import steel. We export cheap steel, we import auto parts. This is happening in all areas, including petrochemicals and base metals. We actually exploit ourselves.
* What is the solution to this problem?
The solution is to make logical policies to encourage added value chains. Also, we must cluster around each of these industries that have a comparative advantage. This is the only way to bring back the negative growth of the economy.
